Hallelujah
A splendid program led by the Belgian conductor Philippe Pierlot, featuring a variety of soloists and singers from the Israeli Vocal Ensemble. At the heart of the program are choral works by Handel, including psalms from the “Chandos Anthems” and a coronation anthem composed for the crowning of King George II. Alongside these works, two concertos by Telemann will be performed – one for oboe and the other for flute and violin.

The third program in The Vocal Experience series of the Israeli Vocal Ensemble is based on Brazilian songs from the popular and beloved program Pais Tropical. The Ensemble’s singers, along with a band of six Israeli musicians, will bring to the stage well-known and beloved songs in a journey through samba and bossa nova, as well as other Brazilian music.
Among the songs in the program: Você Abusou, Como é Duro Trabalhar, Felicidade, Doña Flor, Tristeza (from Orfeo Negro), Naquela Mesa, Birimbão, Santa Clara, Trem das Onze, País Tropical, and more.*This concert replaces the concert Requiem para el Mundo: In the Afro-Cuban beat which was cancelled due to the musicians’ cancellation and at the request of the composer’s widow not to perform the piece in Israel at this time.

Conductor: Yuval BenozerThe Mediterranean sun and the lively Italian temperament are what made the Gloria of the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi his most popular choral work. Surprisingly, the Vesperae written by the 23-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart for the Salzburg Cathedral also bring with it an almost Mediterranean temperament, originating from the young and stormy Mozart’s visits to Italy.
