After a long and not easy period that began with a plague and ended with war, we look forward with hope. After a gray winter we go out to the sun and light. These are the feelings that the program "From Winter to Summer" expresses. It opens with Francis Poulenc's moving work A Night of Snow and Claude Debussy's Winter, moves on to music dealing with spring, and ends with the rays of light seen from the eight French folk songs by Poulenc. A program of beautiful, energetic a-cappella music that combines sadness and joy, sorrow and humor, and brings optimism and faith in the human spirit.
